Connections
Connections (in the sidebar’s Settings group) is where you link the places YOLO Assistant reaches you — messaging apps — and the services it can work with, such as your calendar. It is also where you switch the assistant on or off and set its daily spend cap.
The top of the page summarizes where things stand: whether the assistant is on, which channels can reach you, which integrations are connected (and whether any need reconnecting), and your daily spend cap.
Channels
A channel lets the assistant reach you outside the app, and lets you message it back. Open Connected Channels to link Telegram or Slack.
Linking a channel
- Get a pairing code: message the YOLO bot on Telegram with
/start, or send the YOLO app a direct message in Slack. Pairing only works in a direct message, not in a group. - The bot replies with an 8-character code. It works once and expires after an hour.
- Paste the code into Pairing code and choose Link.
If the code has expired, send /start again for a new one. A channel account can be linked to only one YOLO account. After repeated wrong codes, linking is paused for a few minutes.
What a channel may do
Each linked channel has a permission level:
| Level | What the channel can do |
|---|---|
| Observe | Read: status, alerts, your calendar and email where connected. |
| Operate | Also act: queue and organize work, and tidy email (archive, mark read, label). This is the default. |
| Approve | Also one-tap approvals, such as clearing a merge review, and sending email. |
Actions that change something outside YOLO — creating calendar events, sending email — always ask you to confirm first.
Per-channel settings
- Send test message checks the channel works.
- Alerts, Nudges and Digests chips mute or unmute each kind of message.
- Quiet hours hold nudges and digests overnight (22:00–07:00 in your timezone by default). Alerts still come through.
- Workspaces limits which workspaces the channel can see; All by default.
- The trash icon unlinks the channel.
Integrations
Integrations let the assistant answer questions with your own data. Open Integrations and choose Connect on a service; you’re sent to the provider to approve access, then returned to Connections.
| Service | What the assistant can use |
|---|---|
| Your calendar, always read-only to start. Where offered, the connection can also include Gmail and adding calendar events. | |
| Notion | Your pages, read-only. |
A service shows as Not available on this server when it isn’t offered. When Google offers a permission your existing connection doesn’t have yet, the row shows Add Gmail or Enable editing; choose it to reconnect with the extra access.
If YOLO loses access to your Google account — for example, you revoked it at Google — you get a Reconnect Google notification and the row shows Reconnect. Disconnect revokes YOLO’s access at the provider and removes the connection.
Your account tokens are stored encrypted and never sent to your browser or to agents.
YOLO Assistant settings
The YOLO Assistant card holds the assistant’s own settings. Changes save as you make them.
- Assistant enabled — the master switch. When it’s off, nothing is delivered, answered or approved on any channel.
- Objectives — standing priorities that steer the assistant’s judgement. Where Goals is available, your standing priorities live in Goals instead.
- Timezone — used for digests and quiet hours.
- When the assistant proposes new work — Ask me first (one-tap buttons) or Queue automatically (with undo), and whether to include proposals in your morning digest.
- Daily digest — on or off, the hour it’s sent, and its timezone.
- Daily LLM spend cap — a dollar limit on the assistant’s spending per day. Leave it blank for no limit.
- Undelivered alerts — alerts from the last 7 days that couldn’t be delivered to any channel.
